Learning expedition at “Campus des Métiers” – Mobility and Smart Transportation

The EA²GLE Graduate School is launching its “Learning expedition” initiative with students from the University of Toulouse. What exactly is it? The “Learning expedition” is not just a simple visit outside the campus; it is an immersive learning experience at the heart of an institution (public or private) featuring a contextual introduction, discussions with our hosts, eye contact and physical touch with the subject matter and a practical application exercise.

This new pedagogical approach provides a better perspective on the concepts learned in the classroom through applied learning that aligns with the realities of industrial constraints. The first “Learning expedition” took place on April 8 at the Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications d’Excellence Mobilité et Transport Intelligent – Occitanie at the LYCEE POLYVALENT JOSEPH GALLIENI. This first immersive experience allowed students to grasp the challenges associated with the electrification of road vehicles (power electronics and high-efficiency motors, increased voltage in power batteries, integration into the vehicle, etc). A big thank you to Julien Depriester for organizing the event and to all the Campus instructors who engaged with the students. The next “Learning expedition” will take place at a major aircraft manufacturer in Toulouse.
